Growing In Unity–Day 5

Today is Friday and sadly that means it is my last day to be the Growing In Unity Guest Designer for the week.  It has been a really fun week for me and I have made what I hope to be longtime friendships.  It was really hard for me to choose what to do for this week.  I actually have 2 or 3 images still colored that didn’t get made into cards yet but that will wait for another time.  I normally have written this at night and set it to go off early in the morning but I made one last card this evening and I don’t want to take the picture until tomorrow morning so this post will go up later than some of you are used to. My first image is of course a Phyllis Harris image called “Face The Sunshine’.  I always make index cards on everything I color but I cannot find the one I made on this image so I won’t be able to tell you the colors on it today.  I apologize.  Here it is:

Now I wanted the week to end with some fun Halloween things so one is an Angie Blom and Joslyn Nielson image called, “Halloween Greetings”. Halloween Greetings--Unity

If anyone knows where I can find black glue sticks please let me know.  That is really what I wanted for the spider webs.  It is hard to tell what they are with the Stickles.  I even did just a little at a time and let them dry before I did more.  I am really critical of myself so I cannot tell what this looks like to you but it is really cute in real life.

Next I made 9 simple tags.  I thought that my grandchildren would love them.  I have extras for something?  We’ll see.  I used black cardstock and I embossed it.  Here is the front side:

And here is the other side:

The name of the image is, “Shake Your Booties”. Thank you for visiting me every day and all of your very nice comments.   I honestly appreciate you.  Please be sure to leave your blog addresses too so I can follow you as well.

Growing In Unity–Day 4

It is already the next to the last day.  This week has flown by.  I am having so much fun.  I have another Phyllis Harris card today and then a tag.

This is “Too Beautiful” and I honestly think she is beautiful.  Thankfully I don’t know anyone to send it to but I have it ready if the need ever arises.  Here are the details:

I used Gold and Platinum Stickles

I used my Copics for coloring.  Here are the colors that I used:  E-0000, E-000,E- 50, E-51, E-53, G-03, G-05,G- 07, RV-63, Y-0000,Y- 000, Y-00, Y-38, YR-02, YR-18.

The sentiment is from the same kit.  I had the amber rhinestones in my stash.  The paper was in my 2013 Take Ten Summer magazine and I used a sketch from Paper Craft Crew #52.

I wanted to do another tag since the challenge is tags right now.  So here is my next project.

I got this stamp in the last sale I think but I didn’t see it on the site.  I put a drop of each of three of the TH Distress Ink Refills, festive berries, ripe persimmon, and squeezed lemonade on my non-stick craft sheet.  I mixed them around and then put the tag in.  I think there is actually some blue or green in there too but not much.  You have to either let the tag dry or use your emboss dryer to dry it but be very careful if you do that.  Then I stamped it in the vintage photo.   I bought the bottle in time charm at HL.  I also bought the ribbon there.

I hope that you have found a bit of inspiration today.  I’m looking forward to showing you tomorrow’s treat!

Growing In Unity–Day 1

Happy Monday!  Today starts my week as a Growing in Unity gal!

I started scrapbooking in 2006.  I did my parents’ 50th anniversary album.  The next year I did my husband’s parents’ 50th anniversary album.  The next year I think I ended up doing something like 30 plus albums for Christmas.  Sometime within the past 7 years I found Unity and was in the Kit of the Month club for a while.  I wasn’t making cards then though.  About 3 years ago at Christmas, I had an online friend introduce me to digital stamps and I started making cards.  I’ve been hooked ever since.  I worked on one of the Ippity/Unity teams until my Ippity Chick resigned.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 18 years.  We have 3 wonderful children:  Patrick, Wesley, and Amanda.  We have 5 fantastic grandchildren:  Jeffrey, David, Aubrey, Morgan, and Kyle.  We have 2 furbabies:  Jax, a Shih-Poo and Neda, a ShihTzu.  They are the babies during the week unless the grandbabies get to come over.

I had hoped to share many projects each day but I have had bronchitis since August 24th.  I have one a day and others ready to put together so I’m hoping on some of the days that there will be at least two.  So let’s get a cup of the drink of your choice and get started.

Next Monday I will be picking one winner by random from all of the comments to win 2 Itty Bitty stamps of their choice courtesy of Unity Stamp Co.

I took advantage of the sale this weekend and bought a stamp set that I will GIVEAWAY and pick a winner randomly from the comments.  (All I ask is that you follow my blog for a chance to win)!

This week at UNITY {show & tell}  they are having a tag challenge.   I thought that I would start this week off with a tag for that challenge.

Follow Your Heart Tag--Unity

Follow Your Heart Tag2--Unity

I’m showing you a couple of pictures of the same tag.  I actually did mine backwards but that’s how you learn, right?  I did my stamping first.  I took some TH Distress Inks and dropped them on some wax paper.  Then I played around with them until I had them the way I thought that I wanted them.  I put the tag down on the wax paper and then picked it up.   After it dried I colored the heart with my Tim Holtz barn door distress marker.  I then added some thread that I have had probably since the first couple of years I started scrapbooking.  This stamp is by Joslyn Nielson.  I really like it.  I think it will make a nice gift for someone.  (The tag came from Unity as a gift for buying stamps.)

Please don’t forget to come back tomorrow to see what I have and to leave a comment to win something from Unity as well as have a chance to win something from me!  Thanks for your visit.  Until tomorrow…Ciao…

Stop by tomorrow to see another project (or maybe two) and remember to comment for a chance to win some Unity love!  A Comment and becoming a follower of my blog then gives you a second chance to win because I am having an Unity giveaway!

Love Bear Tag with image from Robyn’s Fetish

I have a little time to put some posts up before I leave for a couple of days.  At The Crafter’s Cafe, Robyn’s Fetish had a Valentine Tag Challenge using Robyn’s Fetish image Love Bear.  I made the tag from Kraft paper & the background is off of PicMonkey.  I had picked up a roll of this mesh at Hobby Lobby for less than $6.  I decided that it was less than buying bags of fruit.  Last year at TCC we had a Valentine Swap and my Secret Swap Sweetie sent me the red embellishment that I put on the heart the bear is holding.  I made the bow and put it on.  I had some old ribbon that I thought would be good for the top so I punched a hole and used it.  That’s about it.  I had the “Happy Valentine’s Day” stamp and stamped it in Tim Holtz Distress Ink Fired Brick.  As always Be Crafty, Be Happy, and Be Blessed!  Ciao!

The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blogspot Challenge #12 Week #3

This month at CCCB Challenge #12 Week #3 – Anything Kissed1--QKR--CCCB

Goes.  QKR Stampede graciously agreed to sponsor us.  I used the stamp of a turtle titled “Kissed”.  I made a pocket type card kind of resembling a turtle hiding in its shell.  Then the turtle can be pulled out as a tag.  Here are the next two pictures to go with this:

This really was a fun card to do.  There are a couple of gold embossed lines on the top and a couple of heart brads.  I sprayed some of the Goosebumps Clear Texture Spray on the sign that says, “Your Shell or Mine” but I may have put it on too thick.  It was the first time I had used it.  🙂  You still have a couple of weeks to join in this challenge.  There is a lot more inspiration on the blog as well.  I hope that you enjoy my card.  To see what the rest of the DT has done as well as the previous two weeks, please click here and you will be taken there.  Be Blessed and safe until we meet again…Ciao…

Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog Challenge #11 Week 3

This week I took Smoochie Baby from The Stamping Boutique to make into a Christmas tag.  I used Christmas colors and then the sentiment “Christmas is For Children”.  I love that Christmas song.  This is week 3 of Challenge #11 at The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog. The challenge runs until December 31 and our sponsor is Robert Jackson.  We are grateful to Robert Jackson for sponsoring this challenge for us and I want to thank him again here.

I know that this is the time of year that we are all SO busy and running around like crazy people trying to get everything done.  Thankfully I think that my husband and I have it all done and we are in a good place to take time and reflect on this past year.  I will save that for another post.  I would love to share all of the inspiration from The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog from this week but I am waiting to see if I can get their permission so for now you will have to go to the blog itself to see all of the wonderful eye candy.  You can see it by going here.  If you want to pay Robert Jackson a visit then you can visit him by going here.  As the year winds down, this is my last post for the year for CCCB and I need to remind you if you want to buy any of  The Stamping Boutique’s  images that you must do so before December 31, 2012 when Tracey closes the store.  I will have a few more posts before the end of the year.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog Challenge #11 – Week 1 – Winter Themed Tags

This month at The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog we have Robert Jackson as our sponsor.  Thank you Mr. Jackson for sponsoring us.

I chose to use Candy Canes which you can purchase by clicking on the link.  The prices are very reasonable.  We are doing winter themed tags.  I put the candy cane image on both sides.  I stamped it with “Merry Christmas.  May the wonder that is Christmas touch the child within your heart.”  The light blue background and some silver ribbon, I was good to go.  I did staple the ribbon in place.  I normally will take a glue dot or something to make certain that the ribbon doesn’t slide around.  Please check out our challenge at The Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blogspot.  We have been having some very nice entries.  I know this is a very busy time of year but most of us as crafters need to do some crafting to relax.  I have shown you an example of a tag that won’t take a whole lot of time but will still fit the bill for coloring, cutting, gluing, stamping, fussing cutting, coordinating colors, and that will still let you spend time with your family and friends or doing that shopping that you may need to do whether online or in the stores!  Hopefully I have been able to inspire you but if you are looking for something more complicated then visit The Crafter’s Cafe Blogspot Challenge #11 – Week 1 – Winter Themed Tags and take a look at my fellow DT’s work as they are always inspiring.  I look forward to seeing you again…Until then…Ciao…

The Stamping Boutique – Challenge #58 – Food

The new challenge at The Stamping Boutique Challenge Blogspot is food.  Can you tell by my pictures?  I made a tag with #451 Pumpkin Pie Digital Stamp from The Stamping Boutique.  I want to mention here that Tracey is having a sale with 35% off.  That is a really good sale.  I made a box to go with this tag and decided that you couldn’t see the tag so well.  That is why I took the 3 pictures.  I wanted you to see the box too on the last picture.  I am truly learning all of the time.  We have so many talented Design Team members that have made fantastic projects you really should go check them out & then go leave them some blog love.  Click here to go to Challenge # 58 – Food at The Stamping Boutique.  I hope that I have inspired you to enter.  I am certain that one of us should be able to inspire you.  The Ladies on my team are the greatest!  Don’t forget that The Stamping Boutique is coming to Paper Craft Planet soon.  They already have 518 members.  That is fantastic.  I think the plan is to begin next week or the week after.  That is just more fun to go around.  Is there anything else you would like to see on this blog?  Any critique that you have?  I know I don’t post every day.  I do crafts all day every day so I don’t have the most exciting life to report but I am willing to listen if there is something else you would like to see or if you have some helpful critique.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Christmas in July With a Tag Cards! GHWI Challenge #23

Good Wednesday morning Friends & Fellow Crafters!  It is time once again to share some inspiration from Get Hippity with {ippity}.  The current challenge is Christmas in July with a tag!

Aletha Williams, owner of Get Hippity with {ippity}, graciously provided me with stamps from {ippity}’s Kissmas & Mistletoe as well as {ippity)’s Gingham Christmas Greetings.  Click the links to buy your own sets.

I embossed the snowman & then used my Distress Marker from Tim Holtz in Broken China to go over the swirls.  I used the “Snowbody Like You” & stamped it on the tag in TH Distressed Ink Broken China ink pad.  These two images were from the Kissmas & Mistletoe set.  I used the music from The Gingham Christmas Greetings & stamped it on the red vellum & then tore the sheet.  It is hard to see the music on my pictures unfortunately.  I also took the smallest snowflake from this set & embossed it on the tag.  The papers were from The Paper Studio Santa & Friends.  I used distress inks to go around both cards.  Some ribbon, embellies, & eyelets and you have the makings for a card.  As my 5 year old granddaughter says, “Easy breezy lemon squeezy!”  🙂

To play in GHWI’s challenge #23 “Christmas in July w/ a Tag” click here!   You do not have to use an {ippity} stamp to play, but it must follow the theme.

To purchase this {ippity} red rubber stamp set or  here or to browse for others click here!
