Day 2 of GIU! I love rhymes. I pulled out my Bee Happy Hexagons stamp kit from Unity. I went to Pinterest and looked at all of the cards I could with hexagons on them. I used a Studio Calico sketch. That was when the idea hit me that I wanted to do something to “Bee You-nique!” I had heard something on television this morning about how we are teaching our female children not to be aggressive and that we are holding them back. I honestly did not hear the entire thing. Do any of the rest of you have the television on when you are working and just hear bits and pieces of it? I have corrected the spelling on my card.
I was pulling out all of my different Phyllis Harris, Donna Downey, Fashionista, and Angie Girl stamps. I have 2 stamps that are repeats. I will do my own giveaway for whomever comments every day on my blog. I thought that I would pull 3 different names. Some of us cannot figure out how to get the Random.org to work on wordpress. The first winner will win the 2 Itty Bittys from Unity. The second winner will win one of my stamps. The third winner will win one of my stamps. I would prefer that you follow my blog but I don’t like it if you only follow to win and then come back and unfollow. So as long as you comment every day then you will be eligible to win.
Thanks for visiting my blog this week. Be sure to comment every day for a chance to win 2 Itty Bittys. There’s also two more chances of winning a stamp from me.
The day is finally here. Plans have been in the making for a few months to start “Dragonfly Dreams Playground” Challenges. Today the first day is finally here. We have officially begun! I’m so excited. I hope that you will join us as we take this challenge to places that we hope will be lots of fun. We aren’t planning things like add ribbon or buttons. Each of the Design Team Members have the option to pick a theme and to host that theme. We owe this all to Laurel McDonald, whom I am sure most of you are familiar with somewhere in blogland. She is the owner of Dragonfly Dreams Playground. She picked the first challenge and she is hosting it so without further ado let’s get started.
Our sponsor for our first challenge is Lawn Fawn.
You can find Lawn Fawn’s shop here. Our first theme is: ” Thoughts of summer, what makes you think of summer.”
Here is my card:
The watermelon, ants, “happy summer” are all from Lawn Fawn. I bought a gingham stamp from Stampendous. For me a picnic is a reminder of summer. Most picnics end up with ants, don’t they? Especially if you have sticky watermelon around. I used Distress Inks as watercolors to color my card. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else does. Have a great day and until we meet again…Ciao…
A couple of days ago I told you about the new digital stamp releases at Fresh Brewed Designs and I showed you a couple of cards that I had made with the Bear and the Hedgehog. Heather asked us to try a new, to me at least, technique. It is called the “Spotlight Technique”. I find it quite fun. The point is to have 2 of the digital designs and to color part of one of them. Then you cut the part out that you want to spotlight. You will put that part over a black and white image that is the same and line it up. I really enjoyed learning to do this technique. I hope that you will be inspired by my examples and that you will try it if you haven’t tried it before or that you will try it again if it has been a while since you have done the “spotlight technique”. Here are my examples. Enjoy!
See how you can even highlight more than one spot? The sentiment on the hedgehog says, “Let’s Get Together For A Playdate”. It is a Woodland type of font and it is difficult to read it on here. Please be certain to stop by Fresh Brewed Designs to see what the rest of the DT has come up with.
At Fresh Brewed Designs we always have a fresh pot of creativity brewing.
So stop by and join us for a cuppa– whenever you want!
Until we meet again…Ciao…
Today at Fresh Brewed Designs, Owner Heather is releasing 5 new digital stamps. They are all SO cute. I printed them out and colored them as soon as I could. I have actually done several cards already but I have 2 cards today to share with you using these new digital stamps. They can all be found in the Woodland Creatures. The first one is Bear:
My favorite part really is the eyes. I thought making these eyes shine was so fun. I also thought that this really made a cute birthday card. I think that my husband ended up putting it with a package for our grandson who is turning 8 tomorrow so I guess his card is already posted. 🙂
My next card uses the digital stamp: Hedgehog
I really enjoyed coloring the eyes on this one as well. The sentiment says, “You’re An Animal!” I’m sorry that is it so hard to read.
Please run over to Crafting Vicky’s blog to see the Beaver digital stamp that she used. Rhonda used the Fox. Marji did a layout with all of the Woodland Creatures in it. Kim used the Beaver. Vanessa used the Fox. Edwina used the Hedgehog. Also Lisa used the Hedgehog. Then you will definitely want to go see all of the new digital stamps released over at Fresh Brewed Designs. If you come back on Wednesday I will have more of these digital stamps using a special technique. Hopefully it is something that you will really enjoy. I hope that these cards have inspired you. I also hope that you will come back for more inspiration on Wednesday. I so enjoy making cards to share on my blog with you. Now that I’m posting more often maybe I will have people coming by more often! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by and for your comments. They are very much appreciated. I will come and visit you too. Until we meet again…Ciao…
Well, months ago I was picked to be part of this design team and we were in the middle of a move. Things have been so hectic with the move, company, summer and family, illness. I’m sure it is probably the same thing that most of you have been going through as well. Life… Anyway, I think that after I get over this bronchitis or whatever that I just got yesterday I am going to be back on my feet and ready to go. I am so excited to be working with Heather and the rest of the design team over at Fresh Brewed Designs. If you look through my blog, you might see a post or two from Fresh Brewed Designs. LOL The first rubber stamp design that I used is Skinny Minnie Beach Set. I thought that this was probably the last time this year that I would be able to use this set. It is still over 100 degrees here in Texas. But with school back in session, time at the lake or at the pool is not nearly as easy to find as it was before. On the other hand, with school back in session, football session is starting up. So I made a card with the Football Girl rubber set from Fresh Brewed Designs. My son is a coach at one of the schools in a small Texas town. He doesn’t coach football but I think that the school is small enough that all of the coaches are very close. I thought that perhaps this would be a good card for him to give one of his fellow coaches. That’s why I used the colors black and orange. I think those are the colors for his school. Please be sure to go by Fresh Brewed Designs to see what the rest of the design team has made for you. I know that Edwina, Marji, Rhonda, Vicky, An’Jenic and Lawren are all going to have something fantastic for you to see.
I hope that you have been inspired by my 2 cards. I know that Fresh Brewed Designs is going to have some inspiration for you. We have worked hard to see that you have a lot of inspiration to get you going. Until we meet again…Ciao…
I am so thrilled to be back with you and even more thrilled to be representing Fresh Brewed Designs today! Today they are having a new release. Let me introduce you to “Bikini Kim”. Isn’t she cute? I had been gone for so long I forgot how to make a card. My husband and I have been in the moving process. I don’t have all of my scrap room done but I had enough of it put together to make this card. I have a friend that is coming in tomorrow from Georgia and she says she is going to help me put the rest of my room together. 🙂 Isn’t that nice? Please drop by Fresh Brewed Designs as well as the other DT that made fabulous cards with “Bikini Kim”. I am going to list the ones I know but please check out Fresh Brewed Designs in case I didn’t get everybody. Thanks for coming by. Please let me know you were here and I will come by your blog too. My friend will by here until July 1st so it may be after that but I promise to drop by.

Red Rubber Designs honored us at Lady Anne’s “Stamp Anything Goes” Challenges by being our May sponsor. I chose the Sunshine Rubber Stamp Set from Red Rubber Designs to do my card with. I truly enjoyed coloring the flowers and making my card. The challenge started today and goes through May 31st. The prize will be a rubber stamp set of the winner’s choice (valued up to $15). I certainly hope you will be inspired to join in and play with Lady Anne’s group. It is an awesome prize and she has an awesome Design Team there to inspire you. For now stay crafty…be inspired…be happy…and be blessed…Ciao…
Why don’t you come join us in our new challenge at 613 Avenue Create? It just started and today it is anything goes with a twist. We are using the colors blue, white, and cream. I chose to use “Grannie Time” by My Heart Pieces. I love this image and I found the perfect paper with “Today, tomorrow & always.” I just needed to add my own “Gramma’s Love is True 4 You”. We would love to have you join us. I used a corner punch to put my image in my DP, then added another page of DP, and some CS. Adding some ribbon and a flower finished it off. It was a fun card to make. You will find more inspiration at 613 Avenue Create. As you go throughout your week, I hope you find inspiration, creativity, and that you are truly Blessed in many ways…Ciao

Digistamps 4 Joy Challenge #59 – Anything Goes
I truly loved the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week. It fit two cards I needed to make perfectly. Back on November 27th I told you of a 6 year old boy, Sebastian, who is having surgery on December 19th and will be spending Christmas in the hospital. This is the second surgery he has had in a year. The first one was on his other arm and it was NOT a success but this little boy continues to be an inspiration to everyone around him and he never gives up. He is willing for them to try surgery on this arm to see if they can get it to bend. This arm is worse and if they can have a successful surgery this time, they will go back and redo the other arm. I think that is a brave young man. Ginger’s House put out the call for the cards and how can this gramma say, “No”, to a 6 year old boy when she would want the same thing for one of her grandsons if it was happening to them? So I found this adorable image and the accompanying sentiment that I put on the inside says, “You are toad-ally amazing!” I truly think Sebastian fits the bill for this! I will be praying that THIS surgery is a success. I want to thank Freshly Made Sketches for Sketch #64 for such a fabulous sketch. I have no idea what I would have done with the last two cards without it. I used the punch that looks like a paper edge because I thought Sebastian might like that. I hope he likes his card. You have a couple of days left if you want to join in at Freshly Made Sketches for this sketch. Hopefully one of my cards has inspired you but there are quite a few entries and of course the DT entries are fabulous if you need more inspiration. So just head over to Freshly Made Sketches for some inspiration. If you don’t feel you have time this week then you might want to at least head over there and bookmark them for future use. They really have some good sketches. I eagerly await our future meeting…Ciao Baby…
