Day 4 Growing In Unity With Lizzie Girl (Showered With Love)

Lizzie Girl--Day 4 GIU

The week always goes by way too fast.  You want to do so many more cards but time doesn’t allow you to finish as many as you want.  Today’s card is using Lizzie Girl (Showered With Love).  Isn’t she so cute?  I used Unity’s Sketch #15.

card-sketch-unity

I used Copics E-11, E-15, E-17, E-19, and E-50.  I also used multiple Derwent Inktense color pencils.  For the buttons I put Icicle Sticles and for the rain I used Baby Blue Liquid Pearls.  I stamped the image on Debbie Mumm Paper.  The umbrella paper is part of the Spring Brights Collection Paper.  I used washi tape, ribbon, and a button from my stash.

I will have a very special card tomorrow.

Don’t forget that if you comment every day this week you get a chance to win 2 Unity Itty Bitty Stamps!

Also if you comment every day I am throwing in another 2 chances to win a stamp from me.  I have 2 stamps that I have bought doubles of and I am going to send to send 1 each to 2 very blessed commenters!  Thanks for visiting my blog this week.  I would love it if you would follow me but that isn’t a necessity to win.

Well, welcome to Day 3 of my Growing In Unity journey.  Today I have used “Oh, Snap” as the main Unity stamp and I love, love “Bunches of Love” to use for my insides.  I have used, “Happy birthday to you” from “Bunches of Love”.  I have a girlfriend that is a photographer and her birthday is Sunday.  She is going to be an Easter baby this year!  I made myself a homemade starburst stencil.  I used Dried Marigold Distress Ink Pad to color my card.  I had some camera washi tape.  I also had some bling in my stash that I was able to use.  Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then my Distress Markers to color:  Squeezed Lemonade, Tattered Rose, Spiced Marmalade, Antique Linen, Victorian Velvet, Vintage Photo, Mustard Seed, and Barn Door.

Don’t forget that if you comment every day this week you get a chance to win 2 Unity Itty Bitty Stamps!  The stamp that I have used here is actually an Itty Bitty Stamp.

Day 2 GIU–Bee Happy Hexagons

Patti-day-2

Day 2 of GIU!  I love rhymes.  I pulled out my Bee Happy Hexagons stamp kit from Unity.  I went to Pinterest and looked at all of the cards I could with hexagons on them.  I used a Studio Calico sketch.  That was when the idea hit me that I wanted to do something to “Bee You-nique!”  I had heard something on television this morning about how we are teaching our female children not to be aggressive and that we are holding them back.  I honestly did not hear the entire thing.  Do any of the rest of you have the television on when you are working and just hear bits and pieces of it?  I have corrected the spelling on my card.

I was pulling out all of my different Phyllis Harris, Donna Downey, Fashionista, and Angie Girl stamps.  I have 2 stamps that are repeats.  I will do my own giveaway for whomever comments every day on my blog.  I thought that I would pull 3 different names.  Some of us cannot figure out how to get the Random.org to work on wordpress.  The first winner will win the 2 Itty Bittys from Unity.  The second winner will win one of my stamps.  The third winner will win one of my stamps.  I would prefer that you follow my blog but I don’t like it if you only follow to win and then come back and unfollow.  So as long as you comment every day then you will be eligible to win.

Thanks for visiting my blog this week.  Be sure to comment every day for a chance to win 2 Itty Bittys.  There’s also two more chances of winning a stamp from me.

Growing In Unity

Growing In Unity Day 1–Easter Card

patti-day-1

(What a time we are having!  The past month our puppy had surgery and we almost lost him.  I went to visit a friend in Florida for a week.  Then this past weekend I took the 2 days of certification classes from Copic.  Now we are having a tornado watch and I am having trouble keeping the internet going.  I am posting my card and hoping that things go off without a hitch.)

I am so excited to be the Growing In Unity Gal this week.  I did this last year and had so much fun.  I’m excited to be doing it again this year.  I started off the week with a couple of stamps that I got from the Kit of the Month from February 2014.  It is being offered today for $26 .  I especially love this kit.  While I was in Florida I took classes at Sparkle N Sprinkle so I wanted to use some of the things that I had bought and learned from there.  I heat embossed my egg as well as my sentiment.  Then I used the brushable glue to color the flowers.  Today is the last day for Unity’s Big Spring Garage Sale.  Hurry so that you can take advantage of huge savings.  Also, if you come and comment on my blog every day this week then you are entered in a drawing to get 2 Unity Itty Bitty Stamps!  That’s a great deal too!  I hope that you will join me each day this week as we discover the wonderful world of Unity!

Until tomorrow…Ciao…

Growing In Unity Winners

I would like to thank each and every one of you for being SO supportive as well as for all of the kind comments during my week as your GUI gal.  It was one of the best experiences of my life and I am excited to sign up for 2014!  I hope I don’t miss it.

Now to get to the winners!  I put the each of the names on a piece of paper and folded them.  They were all the exact same size and folded the same.  I put them in a bowl and had my husband draw the names for me.  The winner of the 2 Itty Bitty Stamps of her choice from Unity Stamp Co was Samantha Slaughter.  I have let Kelli know but you should probably contact her as well at Kelli@unitystampco.com with your choices and let her know that you were my GIU winner.

The winner of my giveaway, Phyllis Harris’ “Autumn Joy” was Kristy.  Please contact me with your address and I will get that in the mail to you ASAP!  My email is yankandtex at hotmail dot com.

Congrats to the winners!  Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who visited my blog and those who joined.  I hope that you will continue to follow me.  I am going to try my hardest to make time to do more Unity and be more involved with them because I love their stamps.

Until we meet again…Ciao…

Growing In Unity–Day 5

Today is Friday and sadly that means it is my last day to be the Growing In Unity Guest Designer for the week.  It has been a really fun week for me and I have made what I hope to be longtime friendships.  It was really hard for me to choose what to do for this week.  I actually have 2 or 3 images still colored that didn’t get made into cards yet but that will wait for another time.  I normally have written this at night and set it to go off early in the morning but I made one last card this evening and I don’t want to take the picture until tomorrow morning so this post will go up later than some of you are used to. My first image is of course a Phyllis Harris image called “Face The Sunshine’.  I always make index cards on everything I color but I cannot find the one I made on this image so I won’t be able to tell you the colors on it today.  I apologize.  Here it is:

FaceTheSunchine--Unity

Now I wanted the week to end with some fun Halloween things so one is an Angie Blom and Joslyn Nielson image called, “Halloween Greetings”. Halloween Greetings--Unity

If anyone knows where I can find black glue sticks please let me know.  That is really what I wanted for the spider webs.  It is hard to tell what they are with the Stickles.  I even did just a little at a time and let them dry before I did more.  I am really critical of myself so I cannot tell what this looks like to you but it is really cute in real life.

Next I made 9 simple tags.  I thought that my grandchildren would love them.  I have extras for something?  We’ll see.  I used black cardstock and I embossed it.  Here is the front side:

ShakeYourBootie1--Unity

And here is the other side:

ShakeYourBooties2--Unity

The name of the image is, “Shake Your Booties”. Thank you for visiting me every day and all of your very nice comments.   I honestly appreciate you.  Please be sure to leave your blog addresses too so I can follow you as well.

Growing In Unity–Day 4

It is already the next to the last day.  This week has flown by.  I am having so much fun.  I have another Phyllis Harris card today and then a tag.

TooBeautiful--Unity

This is “Too Beautiful” and I honestly think she is beautiful.  Thankfully I don’t know anyone to send it to but I have it ready if the need ever arises.  Here are the details:

I used Gold and Platinum Stickles

I used my Copics for coloring.  Here are the colors that I used:  E-0000, E-000,E- 50, E-51, E-53, G-03, G-05,G- 07, RV-63, Y-0000,Y- 000, Y-00, Y-38, YR-02, YR-18.

The sentiment is from the same kit.  I had the amber rhinestones in my stash.  The paper was in my 2013 Take Ten Summer magazine and I used a sketch from Paper Craft Crew #52.

I wanted to do another tag since the challenge is tags right now.  So here is my next project.

ThinkingOfYouTag2--Unity

I got this stamp in the last sale I think but I didn’t see it on the site.  I put a drop of each of three of the TH Distress Ink Refills, festive berries, ripe persimmon, and squeezed lemonade on my non-stick craft sheet.  I mixed them around and then put the tag in.  I think there is actually some blue or green in there too but not much.  You have to either let the tag dry or use your emboss dryer to dry it but be very careful if you do that.  Then I stamped it in the vintage photo.   I bought the bottle in time charm at HL.  I also bought the ribbon there.

I hope that you have found a bit of inspiration today.  I’m looking forward to showing you tomorrow’s treat!

GIVEAWAYS!!!

Growing In Unity–Day 3

I cannot believe that it is already Wednesday and that my time as the Growing In Unity gal is already halfway over.  To be honest with you, this week has reminded me how much fun I can have with my stamps as well as my inks.  I want to thank you that have participated for your very sweet comments and your support.  It is greatly appreciated.

Feel the JoyWithSympathy--Unity

This card is a Watercolor Card that I bought at HL I believe.  I took the 3 colors of my TH Distress Ink Refill Bottles and put some drops down.  I watered them down so I could paint with them.  After I painted, I stamped the image which is an Itty Bitty, “Feel The Joy”.  The sentiment is one of Michelle Bertuzzi’s from the Unity Stamp package “With Sympathy”.  I decided that it was too dark where the image was so I put some bleach on a paper towel and dabbed it lightly where the image and saying were.

Now I have to admit that I am an overachiever and I told you on Monday that I had been sick for a month.  I wanted to make at least 2 projects a day so I have another one to share with you.

Hoppy Birthday1--Unity

Hoppy Birthday--Unity

This card was made with the “Hoppy Birthday” Phyllis Harris and Unity Set.  The card lies flat & when you pull the tag then it makes into the box and the tag stands up in the box.  I was super excited because we moved here in May and I haven’t had all of my play toys out yet.  I got some more of them out and these frog eyelets in my stash.  So I made a tag with the sentiment in the kit and attached it to the box the card makes.  I used my watercolors and gamsol to do the coloring on this.  The sky and bottom of the water are done in TH Distress Ink Pad so that I didn’t leave a bunch of white.  I apologize for the white on the top of the box.  The light was coming in the window when I took the picture and I didn’t notice it until 10:00 p.m. last night.

Remember next Monday I will be picking one winner by random from all of the comments to win 2 Itty Bitty stamps of their choice courtesy of Unity Stamp Co.

I took advantage of the sale this weekend and bought a stamp set that I will GIVEAWAY and pick a winner randomly from the comments.  (All I ask is that you follow my blog for a chance to win)!

Please don’t forget to come back tomorrow to see what I have and to leave a comment to win something for your two chances to win.  Thanks for your visit.  Until tomorrow…Ciao…

Growing In Unity–Day 2

Today is Day 2 of my week of Growing In Unity.

GIUPatti

I was able to get another card done yesterday.  So I am happy about that.  I hope that my cards today will be an inspiration to you.  Let’s begin with the one I did yesterday:

Thanks For All Things--Unity Stamps

This is from the “Thanks For All Things” Ippity/Unity package.  I loved it because I was able to use fall colors.  I used my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers to color the images.  Here are the colors I used:  Crushed Olive, Festive Berries, Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, and Wild Honey.  I used a Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad, color Vintage Photo, to go around the yellow cardstock.  My brads came from my Basic Grey stash.

Present In My Heart--Unity Stamps

My second card is “Present In My Heart” by Phyllis Harris.  I love her images.  I think that they are adorable and I think I have most of them.  I colored my image with Copics.  Here are the colors I used:  B-0000, B-23, B-91, B-93, B-95, BG-000, BG-70, BG-72, E-00, E-21, E-30, E-31, E-33, E-40,E- 41, E-42, E-43, R-01, R-39, R-46, R-81, Y-15, Y-17, Y-19, YR-04, YR-07.  The sentiment is from the set and I used another sentiment from the set on the inside.  The heart button is from Prima.
