Day 5 Growing In Unity–Your Wings Exist–Friends With Flair Friday

Well the bad news is that today is my last day as GIU.  The good news is that today is Good Friday.  Don’t forget that this is Friends With Flair Friday as well.   Sunday will be Easter.  This stamp is your wings exist by Phyllis Harris, artist, that does stamps for Unity.  The sentiment is part of the stamp set.  Here are the Copic colors that I used:  B-000, B-00, E-11, E-13, E-15, E-23, E-37, E-42, E-43, E-50, E-59, and YG-17.  The papers are Prima Madeline.  The bling is from Michael’s.  I used a sketch #179 from Operation Write Home.  I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing with you this week and I will be going around to your blogs and visiting.  I have enjoyed each of your comments.  Thank you very much.

Don’t forget that if you comment every day this week you get a chance to win 2 Unity Itty Bitty Stamps!  I will be posting the winner on my blog on Monday!

Also if you comment every day I am throwing in another 2 chances to win a stamp from me.  I have 2 stamps that I have bought doubles of and I am going to send to send 1 each to 2 very blessed commenters!  Thanks for visiting my blog this week.  I would love it if you would follow me but that isn’t a necessity to win.  The winners will be posted on my blog on Monday!

Day 3 Growing In Unity

patti wed card giu 4 14 front

Well, welcome to Day 3 of my Growing In Unity journey.  Today I have used “Oh, Snap” as the main Unity stamp and I love, love “Bunches of Love” to use for my insides.  I have used, “Happy birthday to you” from “Bunches of Love”.  I have a girlfriend that is a photographer and her birthday is Sunday.  She is going to be an Easter baby this year!  I made myself a homemade starburst stencil.  I used Dried Marigold Distress Ink Pad to color my card.  I had some camera washi tape.  I also had some bling in my stash that I was able to use.  Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then my Distress Markers to color:  Squeezed Lemonade, Tattered Rose, Spiced Marmalade, Antique Linen, Victorian Velvet, Vintage Photo, Mustard Seed, and Barn Door.

Don’t forget that if you comment every day this week you get a chance to win 2 Unity Itty Bitty Stamps!  The stamp that I have used here is actually an Itty Bitty Stamp.

Friends With Flair Friday!

Today is Unity’s Friends With Flair.  I have just started trying to play.  I think I have played 3 or 4 times.  I couldn’t last week because we weren’t home but today I was able to.  I have a friend that is having surgery today.  I’m very concerned about him.  I went through my Unity stamps and came up with a little something I think that he will like.

This is the new monthly challenge at Unity.  Now when you do this challenge–you can pick 1, 2, or all 3 of the challenges.  They are only a suggestion as well.  I chose the color challenge.   I looked at my Copics and decided what colors I thought each of these colors would be.   I chose R-20, R-17, BG-32, E-84, and Y-26 respectively.  I chose two of Unity’s stamps for my card.  I chose Chick in the Rain created by Tracey Malnofski and Joslyn Nielson for one of the stamps.  I also chose Under the Weather by Nikki Sivils.  The weather outside is so pretty that I tried taking the picture outside but the wind is blowing so you have to hurry quick to get the picture.  Here is my finished product:

Both stamps are darling.  I didn’t want to put a bunch of pink since it is for a man but I think that it all came out just fine.  Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Please leave me a comment.  I will want to visit you at your blog too!  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Wishing You Joy

Unity has some awesome red rubber stamps.  Today I am showing three of those stamps.  I needed to make a thank you card for a friend so I chose to use the “Wishing You Joy” set.  This weekend Unity is celebrating having 16,000 Facebook friends.  They are having an awesome sale.  It is 46% off SITEWIDE with the Coupon Code:  FB16.  For orders over $16 you get a free Itty Bitty.  Also there are 61 stamps that they have marked down 61%.  You really need to go check it out.  It is an amazing sale.

Now let’s get back to my card.  Here are the pictures:

Here are the details.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and AC Cardstock.  The paper is Pretty Poppies by Autumn Leaves.  I added some detail with Onyx Pearl Liquid Pearls.  I dry embossed with a “Stampin’ Up” Textured Impressions Flower Garden die.  I used Autumn Leaves Pretty Poppies brads.  Here is the list of Copics that I used:  B-60, R-20, R-24, R-27, R-29, and YG-25.  On the inside the embellishment is also from Autumn Leaves Pretty Poppies Set and the “Thank You so much” stamp is from Unity’s Bunches of Love set.  That set is perfect for SO many things.  It is a MUST HAVE in any cardmaker’s stock!

Well as always, I hope that you have found some inspiration here today.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Happy Birthday My Dear Friend

Today is my Dear Friend’s Birthday.  She is 11 months younger than me.  I think that she is much wiser than me though.  Anyway, I wanted to take this time to wish her the happiest of birthdays.  I took the opportunity to use Unity’s challenge for this month.  Every month Unity has a month long Unity challenge you can choose from 3 themes: Color, card sketch, and/or scrapbook page sketch.

You can actually do all three.  I did the color and actually used the picture of the colors.

Basket Full Of...--Unity

Basket Full Of...Inside--Unity

I used Unity’s Stamp called Basket Full Of Wishes.  I used Copic colors C-0 and C-8.  I used my Prisma Watercolor Blanc.  I used Ranger Distress Markers:  Gathered Twigs, Picket Fence, Salty Ocean, Shaded Lilac, Squeezed Lemonade, and Stormy Sky.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The sketch was found from Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #52.  I added 3 Michael’s $1.50 pearls and the papers are from Bo Bunny.  I also used the grass punch to add a little grass under the bicycle tires.

The inside is a stamp from Unity’s Bunches of Love set.  It is a great set and if you don’t have it you really ought to invest in it.  I also added the color of flowers from Unity’s challenge that I found in Michael’s $1.50 bin.

Susan, I love you and I hope your birthday is one of the greatest ones ever.  I hope that you like your card.  Unity’s stamps are perfect for every occasion.

If you haven’t already gone to be sure to go there and see the other card that was made for Susan for her birthday.

Also, if you don’t mind please pay a visit to Susan S’s blog click here!   then on any one of her posts please tell her Happy Birthday, (Thank you in advanced.)

Thinking of You Card

My very best friend lost her husband 4 years ago and I needed to make her a “Thinking of You” card.  This year she has been ill recently and this time of year is really hitting her hard.  Her favorite colors are fall colors.  So I took a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and got out my inks.  I actually put about 4 drops of the yellow and orange, actually persimmon, on the paper.  I used the ink blending tool and moved the ink around.  I know that the 3rd color was pine needle but this is the color that it turned out.  That was all right.  I had this background stamp with writing on it that I first stamped on the card after the paper had dried.  I may have gotten in a bit of a rush.  But I am still fine with the results.  Then I had this bamboo stamp that I used my embossing ink to put it on the card.  I had some black embossing powder so I put it on and heated it up.  My husband surprised me the other day with this twine.  It is a little thick but hey, you what your husband brings because he is being sweet and it shows him that you appreciate and love him!  🙂  For my inside sentiment I wanted to keep things light so I used my Unity Stamp that says, “God made us best friends because he knew that our moms couldn’t handle us as sisters.”  You can get that stamp here.  I hope that you like my little card today.  It is going in the mail today and I pray that it helps make my friend feel better.  I honestly cannot even imagine life without my husband.  If you have any questions for me you know that I am happy to answer them.  I love your feedback.  I hope that you have been inspired.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

It has been a long time since I have posted for Lady Anne’s Challenges and I am glad to be back.  We were so blessed to have Delicious Doodles as our sponsor for this month.  I chose to use their beautiful hydrangea and butterfly.  I think that this image is very versatile.  Delicious Doodles is offering 4 images of the winner’s choice to whomever wins the challenge.  That’s a really great prize.  The Design Team at Lady Anne’s is very talented so you should hop over there to see what everyone else has created.  It is all beautiful.  Once again thank you to our sponsor:

Spotlight Technique

A couple of days ago I told you about the new digital stamp releases at Fresh Brewed Designs and I showed you a couple of cards that I had made with the Bear and the Hedgehog.  Heather asked us to try a new, to me at least, technique.  It is called the “Spotlight Technique”.  I find it quite fun.  The point is to have 2 of the digital designs and to color part of one of them.  Then you cut the part out that you want to spotlight.  You will put that part over a black and white image that is the same and line it up.  I really enjoyed learning to do this technique.  I hope that you will be inspired by my examples and that you will try it if you haven’t tried it before or that you will try it again if it has been a while since you have done the “spotlight technique”.  Here are my examples.  Enjoy!

See how you can even highlight more than one spot?  The sentiment on the hedgehog says, “Let’s Get Together For A Playdate”.  It is a Woodland type of font and it is difficult to read it on here.  Please be certain to stop by Fresh Brewed Designs to see what the rest of the DT has come up with.
