Birthday Wishes for John

I bought this stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle when I went to visit my friend, Kristy, in Florida for a week of fun.  We went to Sparkle N Sprinkle to take a couple of classes.  This is stamp set 493–Silhouettes.  Tomorrow is my brother’s birthday so I used black embossing powder for this image.  Then I took Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pens and used them as my watercolors to make the background.  I love the look that I got.  I hope you enjoy this little card.  I will be posting a card every day this coming week because I am going to be the GIU girl for the week.  You will have a chance to win 2 Itty Bittys from Unity if you comment on each of my cards next week so be sure to come back.

Until we meet again…Ciao…

Friends With Flair Friday!

Yay!  It’s another Friends With Flair Friday at Unity and that means fun, fun, fun!  Well, it is triple fun today.  It has been a hard week for us so I have three cards to share.  Here is the challenge that is going on at Unity:

And here are my cards to share with you:

My son’s girlfriend’s grandfather passed away and they had the funeral Tuesday.  There is a theme for Tuesday here.  Anyway, I wanted to make her a nice Sympathy card.  I used the With Heartfelt Sympathy stamp (from bunches of love).

Tuesday as my son and his girlfriend were headed to her grandfather’s funeral in another town he looked back in the back of his car, (he was taking his dogs with him), and his first dog as an adult had passed away in the car.  This was a very sad thing as Corby wasn’t sick in any shape, form, or fashion and had been my son’s buddy for at least the past 13 or 14 years.  You know that it is bound to happen but you are never ready.  So again, it was time to break out the stamps and make a different kind of Sympathy card.   This one I took the dog from Phyllis Harris’ “More Blessed to Give” and embossed him in black embossing powder.  On the inside I used a couple of stamps from “With Sympathy” which to me is a must have in anybody’s stamp collection!  It is SO versatile!!!  It is on sale now too if you don’t have it!

Thank You (at the least)--Unity

Yesterday was my birthday.  It was truly an awful day.  My husband gave our Shih Poo a ham bone not thinking anything about it.  It was a large one.  Well that was Tuesday.  He was up all night regurgitating it.  He was still sick Wednesday morning.  So my husband took him to the veterinarian.  He was very, very ill.  She did surgery on him yesterday.  Anyway, he is recuperating now and hopefully will be home Monday.  It will be a long recuperation and our dogs will no longer get ANY bones.

But let’s talk about the card.  I used  “Thank You” (at the least) to make my sister and my brother-in-law a thank you card for the lovely birthday gift that they gave me.  It was very nice and I was very grateful.

I hope that you are inspired to get your stamps out and join us at Friends With Flair Friday at Unity!  You still have time to play along.  Be sure and check out what the rest of the ladies have made for you!  Until we meet again…Ciao.

Birthdays Are Coming!

March is one of the busiest months for our family and birthdays!  In fact my birthday is in March too!  I wanted to share two of my Unity cards on here so I can get them in the mail so they won’t be late.

Age & Wine--Unity

Age & Wine Inside--Unity

This one is for my sweet daughter-in-law.  She is the first of four of our children to turn the same age.  I’m not going to tell her age because it is bothering her this year.  But she has her birthday March 1, then my youngest son has his October 5th, his girlfriend has hers in November, and our daughter has hers January 14th.  I had already put them a year older than they were.  Shh…don’t tell anyone!  I thought that Unity’s Age and Wine stamp was perfect for my daughter-in-law since her birthday was bothering her this year.  I have to let you in on a little hint.  Right now and through the weekend, Unity is having a March Madness sale.  You could get this stamp for its regular $6.99 but get another Itty Bitty for 1 penny!  That’s basically 2 for 1!  Pretty good, huh?  For the inside of the card I used the Unity Stamp “Happy Birthday to You” from the Bunches of Love set.  Let me tell you what I used for this card:

Copics:  E-70, E-71, R-32, R-37, R-39, R-46, Y-11, Y-15, Y-18, YG-23

Flamingo Liquid Pearls

Sizzix Majestic #2 Labels

Creative Imaginations Signature Collection

“Happy Birthday to you”–Bunches of Love

Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink

Glossy Accents

Wine bottle button

Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Sucks to Get Old--Unity

Sucks to Get Old Inside--Unity

This birthday card is going to my stepson that I have raised since he was younger than 8.  He isn’t much younger than me.  I thought he might get a kick out of this.  I have used Unity Stamp’s “Sucks to Get Old” and “Happy Birthday to you” which is from the bunches of love kit.   This mean if you wanted to get the Age and Wine stamp plus the Sucks to Get Old stamp then you would only have to pay $7.  That’s a good deal since both stamps are regularly $6.99.  Here’s what I used on the Sucks to Get Old Stamp.

Hootenanny paper from MME

Copics:  BG-18, BV-17, E-81, R-46, R-59

Sizzix Circle Framelit

Glossy Accents

Paper Studios CS

Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Happy Birthday to you — Bunches of Love set

Don’t forget to go check out the March Madness Sale at Unity this weekend.  I hope that my birthday cards could be an inspiration.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Amanda’s Birthday

My daughter, Amanda, had a birthday today.  This is the card that I made for her.  I’m not allowed to tell you how old she turned.  I can tell you that she is claiming to be 29.  I’m claiming to weigh 125 pounds.  LOL  Her favorite color is purple.  I have so loved the chalkboard look forever.  I used an Unity Stamp and my white chalk ink with some black cardstock.  I just made it very simple.  Sometimes simply telling someone that you love them with a simple card is the best way to tell them.  (We had already given her gift when we went to see her the weekend after Christmas.)  I hope that this has given you some inspiration.  I love my Unity Stamps & I have been busy getting them all organized.  So until we meet again…Ciao…

Birthday Card for Wes

On Saturday my youngest son turns 31.  I don’t know how that happened.  I’m not even 31 yet!!!  But somehow it did.  I bought the image Golfer Digi Stamp from KennyK’s Krafty Krew.  You can purchase it by clicking on the Golfer Digi Stamp words.  Hopefully everyone is familiar with Paulette with Create with TLC.  If you aren’t you are certainly missing out.  She has a freebie every single day and she is the most generous person on the Internet.  She often has more than one freebie daily.  I asked her about the sentiment I used and she created it for me within minutes.  I appreciated that SO much.  How often does that happen?  I certainly hope my son will like his card.  He has asked me to make him a strawberry cake.  My son NEVER asks me to do anything for him so you better believe that I will be making him that cake.  Saturday, my son’s birthday, also happens to be World Cardmaking Day!  In honor of that Paulette has decided that she will showcase the cards that people have made using her digital stamps on them.  She has just begun a program where she is planning to showcase them every Sunday but she is making the exception this time for the special day.  Now she is giving a prize for the one that gets the most clicks.  You can go here to click on this card:  Create With TLC Show It Off Sunday as well as to see what else has been entered.  Thank you for visiting to day.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Lady Anne’s Stamp Anything Goes

The Stamp Anything Goes Challenge at Lady Anne’s began Wednesday, October 2nd.  Both the husband and I have been ill.  I was in bed when I realized that I hadn’t posted this yet.  So I got up to get it posted.  The sponsor was Digital Stamps 4 Joy.  I chose the Pheasant image to work with.  You can get to that image by clicking on Pheasant.  I made this card for my Dad’s birthday card.  His birthday isn’t until December but I think that this image is the perfect image for a man’s card.  What do you think?  I wanted to show you both the inside and outside of the card.  I haven’t put a sentiment on it yet.  I’m thinking, “Have a “pheasant” birthday instead of pleasant birthday.  My husband said that he would get the sense of humor in that.  My family has an odd sense of humor.  Lady Anne’s Stamp Anything Goes Challenge runs for a month so you have plenty of time to get an entry in.  I hope that this will give you some inspiration.  As always there is plenty of other inspiration if you go to the challenge page here.  I certainly appreciate you visiting with me.  Come again often.  I am back in the swing of things and will be adding things more often.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

HI!  If you have been to my blog this week you know that I have been very, very busy.  Today I have for you one of Fresh Brewed Designs new rubber stamps, “Chocolate Cupcake Cutie”.

I got the papers at Michael’s.  I used my Copic markers to color her.  I just think she is darling.  I have a niece who has a birthday on October 1 so this is going to be her birthday card.  Here are the colors I used:  E-00, E-21, E-25, E-30,  E-40, E-47, E-49, R-29, R-85,  R-89, YR-21.  Right now if you go to the Fresh Brewed Designs Store the “Chocolate Cupcake Cutie” is on the opening page.  Not only that but she is currently on sale for 35% off!  This is such a great deal.  The sentiment, “Hi Cupcake” is also from Fresh Brewed Designs and can be found here.  It is also on sale.  Hopefully my card has inspired you today.  These stamps are truly adorable.  Be sure to stop by Fresh Brewed Designs and see what the rest of the DT have in store for you.

Fresh Brewed Designs–Big Apple Book Worm

BigAppleBookworm1--FBD   BigAppleBookworm2--FBD   BigAppleBookworm1&2--FBD   Today I wanted to show you what I decided to do for my granddaughters with Fresh Brewed Designs Big Apple Book Worm Digital Stamp.  The color is the same even though the pictures don’t make it look like it.  That’s what happens when you wake up at 4:00 a.m. and go take pictures.  So please accept my apologies.  My young granddaughter won’t be 4 until December 3rd and she just started Mom’s Day Out.  So she is going to preschool 2 days a week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  So far she is loving it.  I still don’t have all of my scrapbooking supplies in the house but I started looking through a box of tags and I had these 2 tags that I was able to use.  That was definitely a Godsend.  My oldest granddaughter just turned 7 the end of August and she loves reading.  She also is enjoying school.  She is in the first grade.  My hubster gave the first one to the preschooler and the second one to the first grader. In order to get the apple template I went to My Time Made Easy.  I then bought and used An Apple A Day Slice.  I used some brown ribbon that I had to make my stem.  I love the Big Apple Bookworm image for school age children.  I think that it is adorable.  I am still sick so I didn’t get to go with my husband to give the girls their cards.  Actually the oldest one was still at school when he went.  I am going on my third week of bronchitis BUT I did finally go to the doctor yesterday and she gave me a steroid injection, some cough syrup, and 10 days worth of antibiotic so I expect to feel better soon.  I hope that you have found some inspiration here today.  Remember to drop by  Fresh Brewed Designs for more inspiration.  And don’t forget that on Monday there will be a blog hop to introduce the last new rubber stamps for this year.     Until we meet again…Ciao…fbd-banner-patti

Challenge #11 Stamp Anything Goes at Lady Anne’s Challenges

It has been a long time since I have posted for Lady Anne’s Challenges and I am glad to be back.  We were so blessed to have Delicious Doodles as our sponsor for this month.  I chose to use their beautiful hydrangea and butterfly.  I think that this image is very versatile.  Delicious Doodles is offering 4 images of the winner’s choice to whomever wins the challenge.  That’s a really great prize.  The Design Team at Lady Anne’s is very talented so you should hop over there to see what everyone else has created.  It is all beautiful.  Once again thank you to our sponsor:

Spotlight Technique

A couple of days ago I told you about the new digital stamp releases at Fresh Brewed Designs and I showed you a couple of cards that I had made with the Bear and the Hedgehog.  Heather asked us to try a new, to me at least, technique.  It is called the “Spotlight Technique”.  I find it quite fun.  The point is to have 2 of the digital designs and to color part of one of them.  Then you cut the part out that you want to spotlight.  You will put that part over a black and white image that is the same and line it up.  I really enjoyed learning to do this technique.  I hope that you will be inspired by my examples and that you will try it if you haven’t tried it before or that you will try it again if it has been a while since you have done the “spotlight technique”.  Here are my examples.  Enjoy!

See how you can even highlight more than one spot?  The sentiment on the hedgehog says, “Let’s Get Together For A Playdate”.  It is a Woodland type of font and it is difficult to read it on here.  Please be certain to stop by Fresh Brewed Designs to see what the rest of the DT has come up with.
