Unity’s Friends With Flair Friday Fun!

Hello to all my friends and my Friends With Flair Friday Buddies as well!  I have had company for a while and we got a new puppy.  I also have my parents dog here so I have 4 dogs and company.  However, my Bestie and I have accomplished many “scrappy” things.  I have done 17 cards and we have made some altered projects.  We have attended 2 Copic classes and still plan to attend The Great American Scrapbook Convention for 3 days.  I am having a fun time.  I hope that you are too.  I have a Father’s Day card to share with you.  I used “You Are My Main Squeeze”.

I used my Copics and then I used Buff flocking from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Here is a close-up:

I also masked the image and used my Copic Airbrushing system.  I have had 2 classes now.  I need to get time now to put up my certifications.  I hope that you are inspired to create today as well.  I will see you again soon.  Ciao…

Friends With Flair Friday!

Today is Unity’s Friends With Flair.  I have just started trying to play.  I think I have played 3 or 4 times.  I couldn’t last week because we weren’t home but today I was able to.  I have a friend that is having surgery today.  I’m very concerned about him.  I went through my Unity stamps and came up with a little something I think that he will like.

This is the new monthly challenge at Unity.  Now when you do this challenge–you can pick 1, 2, or all 3 of the challenges.  They are only a suggestion as well.  I chose the color challenge.   I looked at my Copics and decided what colors I thought each of these colors would be.   I chose R-20, R-17, BG-32, E-84, and Y-26 respectively.  I chose two of Unity’s stamps for my card.  I chose Chick in the Rain created by Tracey Malnofski and Joslyn Nielson for one of the stamps.  I also chose Under the Weather by Nikki Sivils.  The weather outside is so pretty that I tried taking the picture outside but the wind is blowing so you have to hurry quick to get the picture.  Here is my finished product:

Both stamps are darling.  I didn’t want to put a bunch of pink since it is for a man but I think that it all came out just fine.  Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Please leave me a comment.  I will want to visit you at your blog too!  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Sketch Challenge #193

This weekend during World Card Making Day I tried to get several cards done.  I did two for Operation Write Home which I have always wanted to be a part of but never have done, one for my niece’s birthday coming up on the 12th, and then one for Pink Awareness Month.  The sketch I used for Operation Write Home was #193:

OWH #193-Sketch-Oct-6

The day of World Card Making Day they were asking people to make cards with “Thanks” on them.  I think I colored all of that day and then came back looking for sketches and made my cards.  I missed the “Thank You” deadline but I still have time to put them in the for this sketch.  Here are my cards:

I know that they would look better if I had taken the pictures separately but you can tell what is different about them this way.  The soldier boy came from Whimsy Doodle Graphics.  Of course when it is done this way one side always looks better than the other as far as lighting when I take the picture.  I apologize for that.  They are colored the same.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Birthday Card for Wes

On Saturday my youngest son turns 31.  I don’t know how that happened.  I’m not even 31 yet!!!  But somehow it did.  I bought the image Golfer Digi Stamp from KennyK’s Krafty Krew.  You can purchase it by clicking on the Golfer Digi Stamp words.  Hopefully everyone is familiar with Paulette with Create with TLC.  If you aren’t you are certainly missing out.  She has a freebie every single day and she is the most generous person on the Internet.  She often has more than one freebie daily.  I asked her about the sentiment I used and she created it for me within minutes.  I appreciated that SO much.  How often does that happen?  I certainly hope my son will like his card.  He has asked me to make him a strawberry cake.  My son NEVER asks me to do anything for him so you better believe that I will be making him that cake.  Saturday, my son’s birthday, also happens to be World Cardmaking Day!  In honor of that Paulette has decided that she will showcase the cards that people have made using her digital stamps on them.  She has just begun a program where she is planning to showcase them every Sunday but she is making the exception this time for the special day.  Now she is giving a prize for the one that gets the most clicks.  You can go here to click on this card:  Create With TLC Show It Off Sunday as well as to see what else has been entered.  Thank you for visiting to day.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Lady Anne’s Stamp Anything Goes

The Stamp Anything Goes Challenge at Lady Anne’s began Wednesday, October 2nd.  Both the husband and I have been ill.  I was in bed when I realized that I hadn’t posted this yet.  So I got up to get it posted.  The sponsor was Digital Stamps 4 Joy.  I chose the Pheasant image to work with.  You can get to that image by clicking on Pheasant.  I made this card for my Dad’s birthday card.  His birthday isn’t until December but I think that this image is the perfect image for a man’s card.  What do you think?  I wanted to show you both the inside and outside of the card.  I haven’t put a sentiment on it yet.  I’m thinking, “Have a “pheasant” birthday instead of pleasant birthday.  My husband said that he would get the sense of humor in that.  My family has an odd sense of humor.  Lady Anne’s Stamp Anything Goes Challenge runs for a month so you have plenty of time to get an entry in.  I hope that this will give you some inspiration.  As always there is plenty of other inspiration if you go to the challenge page here.  I certainly appreciate you visiting with me.  Come again often.  I am back in the swing of things and will be adding things more often.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Spotlight Technique

A couple of days ago I told you about the new digital stamp releases at Fresh Brewed Designs and I showed you a couple of cards that I had made with the Bear and the Hedgehog.  Heather asked us to try a new, to me at least, technique.  It is called the “Spotlight Technique”.  I find it quite fun.  The point is to have 2 of the digital designs and to color part of one of them.  Then you cut the part out that you want to spotlight.  You will put that part over a black and white image that is the same and line it up.  I really enjoyed learning to do this technique.  I hope that you will be inspired by my examples and that you will try it if you haven’t tried it before or that you will try it again if it has been a while since you have done the “spotlight technique”.  Here are my examples.  Enjoy!

See how you can even highlight more than one spot?  The sentiment on the hedgehog says, “Let’s Get Together For A Playdate”.  It is a Woodland type of font and it is difficult to read it on here.  Please be certain to stop by Fresh Brewed Designs to see what the rest of the DT has come up with.

New Digital Stamp Release at Fresh Brewed Designs

Today at Fresh Brewed Designs, Owner Heather is releasing 5 new digital stamps.  They are all SO cute.  I printed them out and colored them as soon as I could.  I have actually done several cards already but I have 2 cards today to share with you using these new digital stamps.  They can all be found in the Woodland Creatures.  The first one is Bear:

My favorite part really is the eyes.  I thought making these eyes shine was so fun.  I also thought that this really made a cute birthday card.  I think that my husband ended up putting it with a package for our grandson who is turning 8 tomorrow so I guess his card is already posted.  🙂

My next card uses the digital stamp:  Hedgehog

Hedgehog--You're An Animal--FBD

I really enjoyed coloring the eyes on this one as well.  The sentiment says, “You’re An Animal!”  I’m sorry that is it so hard to read.

Please run over to Crafting Vicky’s blog to see the Beaver digital stamp that she used.  Rhonda used the Fox.   Marji did a layout with all of the Woodland Creatures in it.  Kim used the Beaver.  Vanessa used the Fox.  Edwina used the Hedgehog.  Also Lisa used the Hedgehog.  Then you will definitely want to go see all of the new digital stamps released over at Fresh Brewed Designs.  If you come back on Wednesday I will have more of these digital stamps using a special technique.  Hopefully it is something that you will really enjoy.  I hope that these cards have inspired you.  I also hope that you will come back for more inspiration on Wednesday.  I so enjoy making cards to share on my blog with you.  Now that I’m posting more often maybe I will have people coming by more often!  🙂

Thank you for stopping by and for your comments.  They are very much appreciated.  I will come and visit you too.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Birthday Card For Grayson

inside of April13017B Dustin Pike card

I was invited to participate in sending a card to a little boy, Grayson, that is turning one on the 31st.  Here is the link on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/events/157066771160262/  if you would like to go read about him and participate as well.  It really does sound like a good cause.  My grandson turned a year old in July and I cannot imagine him being ill.  It would break my heart.  I know that this is an awful picture.  If anyone has a tip for taking a picture of a window card then please share it.  I also know that giraffes don’t have perfect circles like I did on the outside but I wanted to be sure to gt this card off today.  It takes several days for a card to get from Texas to Florida.  The digital stamp I used is from Dustin Pike.  It is one from the 2013 year of digital images.  I tried to see if I could find it and I cannot find it to show you where to buy it.  I hope you will participate in sending a card to Grayson.  Until we meet again…Ciao…

Birthday Greetings

John'sB'DayCardPt4 TopsyTurvyBirthdayCake--Meljen'sDesigns FiremanBear--Meljen'sDesigns

My brother’s birthday is Sunday but I will not be here for his birthday so I am putting his card on today.  Meljen’s Designs is having a 50% off sale for April.  Not only that but they are giving everybody a chance to win 3 digital designs.  How is that for their BIG 3 year birthday bash?  Pretty special, right!!!  Well, the challenge there right now calls for circles and lots of them.  I didn’t add my own circles per se but the designs that I used from their shop have a lot of circles on them.  The first design I used is called, “Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake”.  Lots of circles on this little design on the cake, I tried using them as strawberries the best I could but they are still more of a circle.  Then there are all the circles from the candle light.  The second image I used is “Fireman Bear”.  Of course for circles, there are his cheeks, his eyes, his hands, nose, and then again the water spray.  You can buy each of these images for only $1.50 now that they are 1/2 price.  My baby brother, my only brother, is turning 52, so I had to give him a hard time about that.  You see, I turned 55 this year and my sister turns 54 this year.  We are all so close in age and we are getting to the age where it is all the same truly.  I hope you like my little card.  May you be happy, inspired, blessed, and crafty!  Ciao…

More March Birthdays

Kingfisher in the Rushes - Male - DeliciousDoodles

I have a son that was born on March 5th and my father-in-law whose birthday is March 26th.  I love this image from Delicious Doodles called Kingfisher in the Rushes – Male.  I thought it was a great image for men.  Today Fecnikek had the green leaves frame as a freebie today that I used at the background.  I put the two together and thought that they went together very well.  Teri at Delicious Doodles has the male and the female version of the Kingfisher in the Rushes on special for 2 pounds.  I think that is a little under $3 I think for us as Americans.  That took care of two male birthdays for March.  I hope that you enjoy the cards.  As always Stay Crafty, Be Inspired, Be Healthy, Be Blessed…Ciao…
