Growing In Unity–Day 1

Happy Monday!  Today starts my week as a Growing in Unity gal!

GIUPatti

I started scrapbooking in 2006.  I did my parents’ 50th anniversary album.  The next year I did my husband’s parents’ 50th anniversary album.  The next year I think I ended up doing something like 30 plus albums for Christmas.  Sometime within the past 7 years I found Unity and was in the Kit of the Month club for a while.  I wasn’t making cards then though.  About 3 years ago at Christmas, I had an online friend introduce me to digital stamps and I started making cards.  I’ve been hooked ever since.  I worked on one of the Ippity/Unity teams until my Ippity Chick resigned.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 18 years.  We have 3 wonderful children:  Patrick, Wesley, and Amanda.  We have 5 fantastic grandchildren:  Jeffrey, David, Aubrey, Morgan, and Kyle.  We have 2 furbabies:  Jax, a Shih-Poo and Neda, a ShihTzu.  They are the babies during the week unless the grandbabies get to come over.

I had hoped to share many projects each day but I have had bronchitis since August 24th.  I have one a day and others ready to put together so I’m hoping on some of the days that there will be at least two.  So let’s get a cup of the drink of your choice and get started.

Next Monday I will be picking one winner by random from all of the comments to win 2 Itty Bitty stamps of their choice courtesy of Unity Stamp Co.

I took advantage of the sale this weekend and bought a stamp set that I will GIVEAWAY and pick a winner randomly from the comments.  (All I ask is that you follow my blog for a chance to win)!

This week at UNITY {show & tell}  they are having a tag challenge.   I thought that I would start this week off with a tag for that challenge.

Follow Your Heart Tag--Unity

Follow Your Heart Tag2--Unity

I’m showing you a couple of pictures of the same tag.  I actually did mine backwards but that’s how you learn, right?  I did my stamping first.  I took some TH Distress Inks and dropped them on some wax paper.  Then I played around with them until I had them the way I thought that I wanted them.  I put the tag down on the wax paper and then picked it up.   After it dried I colored the heart with my Tim Holtz barn door distress marker.  I then added some thread that I have had probably since the first couple of years I started scrapbooking.  This stamp is by Joslyn Nielson.  I really like it.  I think it will make a nice gift for someone.  (The tag came from Unity as a gift for buying stamps.)

Please don’t forget to come back tomorrow to see what I have and to leave a comment to win something from Unity as well as have a chance to win something from me!  Thanks for your visit.  Until tomorrow…Ciao…

Stop by tomorrow to see another project (or maybe two) and remember to comment for a chance to win some Unity love!  A Comment and becoming a follower of my blog then gives you a second chance to win because I am having an Unity giveaway!

  1. Fun tag, Patti. Love the colors and great technique! Hope you’re feeling better soon. Congrats on getting the GIU gal this week!

  2. Congrats on being the GUI this week and so sorry you’re not feeling well. Your tag is just beautiful with all the rich color and the fiber! Hope you get over your bronchitis soon because I know how tough it is taking care of your family when your energy is low.
