Sharing Time

I’ve been trying to help my parents since their wreck.  The guy that hit them is 18 & has a family.  He didn’t have a driver’s license or insurance.  My parent’s car is totaled besides my Mom’s five broken ribs.  She hasn’t been able to care for herself & Dad has needed to get out of the house.  They live 40 miles away.  We have been trying to take food or go help take care of her.  On top of that I haven’t felt well.  These blooming allergies & my other illness don’t help matters.  I have a big project that was due on the 16th.  It is awesome but I haven’t felt well enough or been home enough to get it completed.  Anyway, we had to replace the sink in our kitchen & the faucet b/c the water bill went up 400% b/c of the drought we are having in Texas.  We have had a leak in the faucet since we bought the house so it was past time.  I thought I would share my new pen holder, top picture, & Stickles holder, bottom picture, with you.  That isn’t what they look like?  Well, let me explain.  We found these 2 pieces at Target yesterday.  I asked my husband if he could take PVC pipe & put it in the wine rack.  He said he could.  We found the PVC pipe & we even found little end caps that fit on the end of the pipe so the pens won’t go all the way through.  He is going to cut it & put it in the wine rack.  I plan to take all of my different pens & sort them by color, all the blues in one, blacks in one, reds in one–you get the picture.  There are 10 slots.  I went on a site:   & ordered three 12″ diameter wooden circles.  They are 3/4″ thick.  My husband is going to drill holes into each of them so I can store my Stickles, Adirondack Alcohol Inks, (& if there is anything else that I have or that fits if there is any room left over), upside down.  I will share a picture when they are done but I haven’t posted in so long I wanted to share something with you.  So these are my projects for the hubster & then I will get busy filling them.  Oh, I picked up some sugar jars too so I can fill them with the Baker’s twine.  When I finally get my scraproom finished there will be pictures to share.  I do have before pictures as well.  🙂  Enjoy the rest of your day or evening wherever you are.

First Zentangle

This is the first zentangle that I have ever done.  I got the book in the mail over the weekend.  I have never attempted to do one & I’m definitely NOT an artist but I thought that I would share it with you.  I am definitely open to criticism, suggestions, or comments.  It was hard for my hubby to get a picture this morning & I tried to use Aviary to get out the shadows but I obviously didn’t do a very good job at that either.  😦  Anyway, I have some ATCs to get done & my son’s MIL is coming to get me so that we can plan a baby shower so it is time for me to get off of the computer.  Time has gotten away from me.  Let me know if you are interested in trying the zentangle.  We’ll talk more about it!

TCC Challenge Card

The Crafter’s Cafe had a chat last night & they had this digi as a freebie.  They are giving those of us who were there until the 28th to enter their challenge.  I colored this with my new ProMarkers.  The paper is from a paper pack from Color Bok called Rosewood that came from Walmart.  I absolutely love the colors in it.  I already had the ribbon & cardstock & there you have it.  I haven’t stamped any sentiment in the inside.  I thought that I would save this card so that we could use it for whatever comes up that we deem necessary.  Thank you for stopping by.  I always appreciate any comments or suggestions.  For tonight I’m signing off…

Feel Better

We got a call on Thursday night from my Dad saying that they had been in a car accident.  He said that a young man had failed to yield the right of way at a yield sign & hit them on Dad’s side of the car causing the air bags to go off & totaling their car.  He also reported that Mom was in the ER.  After a couple more phone calls & several hours Mom was released & it was reported that she had no internal injuries but she has 5 broken ribs.  So the news is relatively good.  At her age we need to make sure that she breathes into the tool the doctor gave her so that she doesn’t develop pneumonia.  That is our next hurdle but I don’t think it is going to be as large of a hurdle as I originally thought.  My Mom can be pretty stubborn sometimes.  Anyway, we are fixing a roast & veggies to take to them tomorrow for lunch.  I wanted to have a card to take.  So here is my card:

Heard You Had A "Hare"-O-Wing Experience

Outside:  Heard You Had A “Hare”-O-Wing Experience  Stamp from Meljen’s Designs.  They are having a wonderful 50% off sale until the end of April.  I was able to use the new ProMarkers that came in yesterday!  🙂

Praying You Get Your Bounce Back

Inside:  Praying You’ll Get Your Bounce Back  Digital Image from Squigglefly.  I used my new ProMarkers here as well.  🙂

I made my 2nd “Pop-Up” card, I guess.  But I did this one differently than I was told to do the other one.  I was using my CardMaker “Creative Cuts & Folds for Paper” Magazine for this card.  So I guess in a way this was new for me.

I would like to enter my card in  Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge FBC 92 {Funny /Humor}.  I know I have a “twisted” sense of humor but I figured that this would qualify!  🙂

Just Because

Week #110 – ‘Beautiful Roses’ the Shabby Tea Room Challenge with colors AQUA, PINK, NEUTRALS and FLOWERS!  I made my card to enter into this challenge.

Week 110 Beautiful Roses The Shabby Tea Room Challenge

I used Kraft cs, pink cs, Webster’s Pages Sunday Picnic “Poppy Fields”, a couple of crafting tapes from Recollections, a Jolee’s Boutique rose, some pink gems from K&Co, a couple of stamps, & a couple of pins.  I’m really happy with the result & don’t think that the picture does it justice.  I hope this gives you some inspiration to go & make something crafty.  I’m working really hard to get out some ATC cards that are past due.  Hopefully I’ll have them finished this weekend & get them sent off.  I’m real excited about the end results.  In the meantime, stay crafty & thanks for visiting my part of the world.

John’s Birthday Card

I made a birthday card for my brother.  His birthday is April 14th.  This is my first time making an easel card & although it isn’t perfect, I am pretty proud of it.  I have a new computer & when I did the inside with word, I put that I was going to use a 3×5 index card & this is the way the writing turned out.  I’m not quite certain why that happened.  Anyway, Robyn’s Fetish Digital Stamps here: is having an “anything goes” challenge.  I thought that I would enter my card into their challenge.  I used a Bugaboo Stamp that you can buy here:

Here is the list of Copic markers I used:  B39, B32, B29, B24, B23, B00, R46, R29, G17, G05, G02, E95, E21, C7, C5, C3, C1, Black 100, Recollections White Opaque Marker.  I hope you enjoyed this card.

I have not figured out how to put how much I appreciate your comments by the comment spot but I take the time to read each & every one of them & I certainly appreciate the time you take to look at my blog & to comment.  Thanks & until next time…

I Promised Pictures

I did this once & I had 9 pictures.  I’m just warning you now.  I’m going to put all of them in here & this is the reason.  This is probably going the be the last grandchild I ever have.  This was the coolest idea I have ever heard of for finding out about the gender of the baby & it was really, really awesome for the entire family to be together & all find out at the same time!!!  I hope to encourage some of you to do something like this sometime.  It was really put together well.  Here are the promised pictures:

The invitation.

The cake.  If you paid close attention to the invitation you will see that the theme is “What will it BEE?”  They continued the “BEE” theme throughout & it was so, so cute!

These are some pictures of the tables.

They had verses framed & placed nicely on all of the tables.  This is just an example.

The entire family was involved in cutting the cake.  It was precious.

It’s a BOY!!!  We all find out at the same time.  Well, almost.  My son kind of hid it until he & my daughter-in-law found out first.  I guess that is only fair.  LOL

This is my son, daughter-in-law, 2 year old granddaughter, & youngest son’s girlfriend, (she was the hostess of the party), enjoying the cake.  Thanks for sharing my pictures with me.  I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did.  I hope you can tell how cute things were.  This is just a small sample.  I don’t want to bore you with ALL of the pictures.  BWAHAHA

Until next time…  Ciao~

Gender Party

I have pictures but none downloaded yet.  I just thought that I should share what we found out.  My son has 2 girls, age 5 & 2, & we were hoping for a baby boy.  In fact, here is the background story.  My daughter-in-law had a hard birth with the 2 year old.  She was 9 lbs. 6.5 oz.  (Same size as her father!)  Anyway, DIL said that she was not having anymore children.  The 5 yo kept asking for a baby brother.  DIL told her that she would have to pray for one b/c she wasn’t promising one.  Well, surprise, she ended up with a surprise package.  So, we all waited with anticipation as the  4 of them cut into the cake.  It was……..

BLUE!!!  We are all so happy.  The party was SO much fun.  They had blue & pink ribbons so that you could put one on your clothes as to what you guessed it would be.  Only 4 people had put on pink.  I guess that we all guessed pretty good.  My youngest son’s girlfriend & her family did a wonderful job putting on this party & I have to say that the only regret I have is not going up to talk to HER mom & getting to know her.  I knew she was busy trying to help get things together but I really think I should have made the effort to get close to her.  We were only there an hour & a half & then we headed straight back for home, which was 6 hours away.  When you have 3 dogs & they are all farmed out to different people you feel like you need to hurry home.  I do want to share the pictures though b/c it was an absolutely awesome party & an awesome idea & one that someone else may want to use some day.  For now…
