Isn’t this little girl the sweetest? Heather at Fresh Brewed Designs released this back in August but it reminds me of Spring. It is called “Blowing Bubbles”. You can find your own by clicking on the link. The March choose your challenge is still going and will be going for 9 (nine) more days so you still have time to enter. I chose to use the sketch.
Let me give you a quick run down on what I used for my card. I used Copics: BG-0000, BG-000, E-000, E-21, E-70, E-71, E-74, E-77, R-20, V-12, V-15, a Marvy Silver gel pen, AC pastel CS, Recollections CS, Oriental Trading Ribbons, Michael’s pearls, Spellbinder’s Scalloped Oval, Sepllbinder’s Lacey Oval, and a Sizzix Majestic Labels #2.
I will have 1 more post for Fresh Brewed Designs. You all know that I think the world of Heather. I am going to take some Copic classes in April to try to get certified and then a couple more Copic classes in May. I have a couple of classes for some techniques scheduled this month. I want to try to get my skill levels up higher so that everyone enjoys my cards more. Please don’t go anywhere because I will be sharing the journey on my blog. And please keep visiting Fresh Brewed Designs.
Yay! It’s another Friends With Flair Friday at Unity and that means fun, fun, fun! Well, it is triple fun today. It has been a hard week for us so I have three cards to share. Here is the challenge that is going on at Unity:
And here are my cards to share with you:
My son’s girlfriend’s grandfather passed away and they had the funeral Tuesday. There is a theme for Tuesday here. Anyway, I wanted to make her a nice Sympathy card. I used the With Heartfelt Sympathy stamp (from bunches of love).
Tuesday as my son and his girlfriend were headed to her grandfather’s funeral in another town he looked back in the back of his car, (he was taking his dogs with him), and his first dog as an adult had passed away in the car. This was a very sad thing as Corby wasn’t sick in any shape, form, or fashion and had been my son’s buddy for at least the past 13 or 14 years. You know that it is bound to happen but you are never ready. So again, it was time to break out the stamps and make a different kind of Sympathy card. This one I took the dog from Phyllis Harris’ “More Blessed to Give” and embossed him in black embossing powder. On the inside I used a couple of stamps from “With Sympathy” which to me is a must have in anybody’s stamp collection! It is SO versatile!!! It is on sale now too if you don’t have it!
Yesterday was my birthday. It was truly an awful day. My husband gave our Shih Poo a ham bone not thinking anything about it. It was a large one. Well that was Tuesday. He was up all night regurgitating it. He was still sick Wednesday morning. So my husband took him to the veterinarian. He was very, very ill. She did surgery on him yesterday. Anyway, he is recuperating now and hopefully will be home Monday. It will be a long recuperation and our dogs will no longer get ANY bones.
But let’s talk about the card. I used “Thank You” (at the least) to make my sister and my brother-in-law a thank you card for the lovely birthday gift that they gave me. It was very nice and I was very grateful.
I hope that you are inspired to get your stamps out and join us at Friends With Flair Friday at Unity! You still have time to play along. Be sure and check out what the rest of the ladies have made for you! Until we meet again…Ciao.
Today is Unity’s Friends With Flair. I have just started trying to play. I think I have played 3 or 4 times. I couldn’t last week because we weren’t home but today I was able to. I have a friend that is having surgery today. I’m very concerned about him. I went through my Unity stamps and came up with a little something I think that he will like.
This is the new monthly challenge at Unity. Now when you do this challenge–you can pick 1, 2, or all 3 of the challenges. They are only a suggestion as well. I chose the color challenge. I looked at my Copics and decided what colors I thought each of these colors would be. I chose R-20, R-17, BG-32, E-84, and Y-26 respectively. I chose two of Unity’s stamps for my card. I chose Chick in the Rain created by Tracey Malnofski and Joslyn Nielson for one of the stamps. I also chose Under the Weather by Nikki Sivils. The weather outside is so pretty that I tried taking the picture outside but the wind is blowing so you have to hurry quick to get the picture. Here is my finished product:
Both stamps are darling. I didn’t want to put a bunch of pink since it is for a man but I think that it all came out just fine. Thanks for visiting my blog today. Please leave me a comment. I will want to visit you at your blog too! Until we meet again…Ciao…
This month the challenge at Dragonfly Dreams is sponsored by Imagine That. The theme is Up, Up in the Air: clouds, birds, kites, balloons, butterflies. If you are like me you are ready for Spring! Here is my card:
Here are the items I used from Imagine That. I used the Birds in Spring kit specifically Psalm 118.24. I also used the Spring in Bloom Digi Papers specifically Leaf Floral, Dotty Blues, and Cherry Blossoms coral. I loved this set. I used my Copics to color the image. Here is the list of Copics that I used: B-0000, BG-01, BG-34, E-23, E-25, E-27, E-29, R-20, R-24, YG-23, and YG-25. I used Spellbinders Grand Label One to cut out the image. I hope that you will join us at Dragonfly Dreams for a fun challenge. Please go visit Kris at Imagine That and look at all of the really nice images that she has. I was not aware of her site before now and perhaps you weren’t either.
Please go to Dragonfly Dreams and check out the wonderful cards that the rest of the DT made as well. They are a very talented group of women. Until we meet again…Ciao…
Today is my Dear Friend’s Birthday. She is 11 months younger than me. I think that she is much wiser than me though. Anyway, I wanted to take this time to wish her the happiest of birthdays. I took the opportunity to use Unity’s challenge for this month. Every month Unity has a month long Unity challenge you can choose from 3 themes: Color, card sketch, and/or scrapbook page sketch.
You can actually do all three. I did the color and actually used the picture of the colors.
I used Unity’s Stamp called Basket Full Of Wishes. I used Copic colors C-0 and C-8. I used my Prisma Watercolor Blanc. I used Ranger Distress Markers: Gathered Twigs, Picket Fence, Salty Ocean, Shaded Lilac, Squeezed Lemonade, and Stormy Sky. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The sketch was found from Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #52. I added 3 Michael’s $1.50 pearls and the papers are from Bo Bunny. I also used the grass punch to add a little grass under the bicycle tires.
The inside is a stamp from Unity’s Bunches of Love set. It is a great set and if you don’t have it you really ought to invest in it. I also added the color of flowers from Unity’s challenge that I found in Michael’s $1.50 bin.
Susan, I love you and I hope your birthday is one of the greatest ones ever. I hope that you like your card. Unity’s stamps are perfect for every occasion.
If you haven’t already gone to http://kristyleesworld.wordpress.com/ be sure to go there and see the other card that was made for Susan for her birthday.
Also, if you don’t mind please pay a visit to Susan S’s blog click here! then on any one of her posts please tell her Happy Birthday, (Thank you in advanced.)
These flowers went to Susan from Kristy and I as well. I hope that you like them Susan!

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope that if you took the time to come by here today you found some inspiration. Until we meet again…Ciao…
I have created an Easter card and I used Unity’s new challenge for my inspiration.
I went with color but there is no reason that your can’t go with two or even all three. Here is my card:
The first thing I did was take the colors that were on the challenge and use those colors of crayons and melt them with my embossing heat dryer. It is hard to see the purple on the black but you can see it if you look close. I used Recollections Chalk paper and Recollections white pigment ink to stamp my image from Dying Eggs (wit & widsom). The bg paper come from Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments Collection. The inside is AC Cardstock which is a light violet. I used 2 stamps from Unity’s Everything Easter collection for the inside. If you follow the link the Everything Easter stamp is on sale for $12 down from $29. You will need to hurry though as the sale ends tomorrow. Also the shipping is $2.95 on orders over $25. That’s a true bargain. I have one more card to show you.
This is i will give you my heart Unity Stamp. This is one of Phyllis Harris’ stamps. I really like her stamps. Here are the Copic colors I used:
E-00, E-13, E-19, E-21
V-121, V-15, V-17
I also used my Derwent color pencil “Baked Earth”. The bg paper is Love Me by MME. On the inside I used a heart embellishment by Heidi Swapp and I colored it with Tsukineko Cherry Blossom spray.
I hope that you have enjoyed my cards as much as I enjoyed bringing them to you. I hope to see you again. Until we meet again…Ciao…
Hello My Crafty Friends~
I have created a card for this week’s Unity challenge. These are the fun things they allow you to choose from:
You can choose from a color challenge, a sketch card challenge, or a sketch scrapbook page challenge. Or you can do them ALL of course. I decided to really challenge myself so I went with the color and the sketch challenge.
Here is my card:
I used the Unity “Bee” Better Together stamp that can be found here if you would like to own one of your own. For the embossing I used a Tim Holtz Sizzix Set called “Bubble & Honeycomb Set”. My papers are from MME “Follow Your Heart * Be Amazing”. I used Copic R-46 to color in the hearts. I added a bow and a bee button that I had in my stash. I used the Majestic #2 Labels framelits from Sizzix to cut out my bees and the sentiment for the inside of my card. I wanted to dress it up a little so I used a piece of the left over paper to add my sentiment.
Thank you for stopping by today. Until we meet again…Ciao Ma Copine…
For Dragonfly Dreams second challenge we were to use our favorite song. We were blessed enough to have Stitchy Bear Stamps sponsor us. I was able to use “The Power of Love” digital stamp. Now I knew ahead of time that Luther Van Dross, Huey Lewis, and Celine Dion sang songs with that title. I had forgotten about Jennifer Rush singing it. Also the songs are all different, at least the first 3 that I mentioned. Now while I was making my card I sort of vacillated between singing Luther’s version and Huey Lewis’ version. Apparently I wound up singing Huey Lewis’ version at the end because it is the one that says, “That’s the power of love.” I had the paper and the ribbon in my stash. I colored 2 of the digital stamps and I popped up one of them. I hand wrote, “That’s The Power Of Love…” with a white gel pen. I used my copics to color my images. Here is the list:
B-24. B-26, B-28, B-32
C-6, C-7, C-9
R-24, R-27, R-29, R-81, R-83, R-85
Please be sure to go check out the rest of the images that the DT did. You can see them here. They all did a beautiful job. And please go visit our sponsor, Stitchy Bear Stamps! They have all kinds of great images to work with. They have great images to work with for this challenge! I hope that you have found some inspiration here. Until we meet again…Ciao…
