Let The Cravings Begin

I bought these images from Doodle Pantry & you can too here:  We are leaving tomorrow to go to a “Gender” Revealing Party.  If you have never heard of one, they are the new way of telling everyone what the sex of the baby is.  Men & women are invited to the party.  Our son & daughter-in-law went to the sonogram & had the sex of the baby put into an envelope & then gave the envelope to my youngest son’s girlfriend.  She is either making a large cake or cupcakes & then will fill the inside with either blue or pink.  When we cut/bite into the cake we will all find out the “gender” of the baby.  There is a luncheon involved & I am pretty sure that they are planning some games as well.  This is something that I’m really looking forward to.  Everyone is supposed to take diapers.  I would take something else but since I don’t know what it is going to be, diapers will actually be the best thing to take I think.  I love the way the card turned out & I hope that you like it too.

Easter Card

You may have noticed an absence.  LOL  I spent 9 days in Florida.  I had planned to spend a week there.  My sweet, adorable husband let me go there to spend my birthday with my BFFs.  However, when it was time to come home there was bad weather in Dallas & I could not get home to him.  American Airlines did NOTHING to help me, telling me that I could spend 2 days in the airport waiting.  I subsequently found out that the first half of the flight was definitely booked but the 2nd half of the flight was just on stand-by.  I had to pay an extra $24 just to make sure that I WOULD get home after 2 days!!!  I was without medication for 2 days & American Airlines compensation for the trouble?  HA!  They gave me 7000 frequent flyer miles that I’ll never use b/c I won’t fly with them again.  They could have at least reimbursed me the $24.  They were offering $500, plus hotel stays, plus dinner, plus breakfast at the airport for anyone who would give up their seat the day that I actually flew.  They certainly were cheap with me & it certainly was NOT appreciated.  But, this blog is not for complaining.  However, I wanted you to know how I was treated by American Airlines should you want to fly the “friendly skies”–you might want to think twice about who you fly with & be sure if you take medicine to take extra.  You never know when the weather will delay you.

The Crafter’s Cafe is having an Easter card challenge here:  We were given a choice of two images & I chose Chickie.  Here is the card that I made.  I hope that you enjoy it & I hope that you are busy creating too.  It gives us such pleasure, doesn’t it?  No matter what medium we choose to use!  I hope to have more for you this week but we are going to Dallas to find out the gender of the new grandbaby that is due in July.  That is very exciting for us!!!

Silly Boys ~ Swords Are For Girls

Hey, Forever Night Challenges is having a fun challenge.  It is a Pirate Challenge!  So this is my entry for Freaky Friday Challenge 30:  Pirate Challenge.   This is Pirate Lylah from Tickled Pink, here:  I used my copics & tried to color her closely to what they had done.  I took my twine & changed the white to black to match the background papers.  I already had the paper & then the Rusty Pickle sentiment.  Thanks for looking.

The Altered Alice

I “rish” You A Happy St. Paddy’s Day!!!

Challenge #97 – “Cupcakes” at IDIC is sponsored by Limited Runs Digital Stamps.  They have a fantastic selection of digital cupcakes & I picked one of the St. Patrick Day ones from here:   It may be hard to recognize b/c I paper pieced it & the image is inverted.  The background piece of paper is large shamrocks.  They are so large that it is hard to see.  The inside of the card is something I found on the ‘Net & just added.  The icing is puffy paint.  The base is silver foil with a gray cs for the darker part of the hat.  The hatband is felt.  The buckle is silver Stickles.  I had made some clay shamrocks for my ATC swap & had some left so I used those for the shamrocks.  I added some bling & some scraps that looked Irish to me & I had my card for the challenge.  I hope it is something that you enjoy.  To join in the challenge go here:

March Hare

This is the card I am entering this week.  I used the image The March Hare from here:  I used K&Co’s Blue Awning b/c I bought a ton of it when it came out.  I love it & think it goes so well with everything.  I used my Letraset AquaMarkers to color.  I wanted the colors to be very muted.  Then I had Cardmaker overlay that I thought was perfect so I cut it up & put it on there.  Thanks for looking.  I hope you enjoy the card as much as I enjoyed making it.

My son & granddaughter

I’ve been wanting to put a picture of my granddaughter on here for a long time.  I have no problem showing off my son as well.    They went to a Maverick’s game last night.  Aubrey loves sports & watches them with her Dad.  She can actually tell you who the players are.  We are having our 10th grandchild in July.  It is a strange thing.  This son, Patrick, is my 1st son but then I remarried & although that marriage ended up in a divorce as well, I have 2 (adopted) children & 5 grandchildren from that relationship.  I didn’t formally adopt them but we still have a strong relationship & they call me Mom & the children call me Gramma & my husband Grampa.  Well, as promised, the picture of my beautiful son & the first granddaughter I had. 

March Luck O’ The Irish ATC Swap

This was done for March’s Luck of the Irish ATC Swap at The Crafter’s Cafe.  I loved doing this.  I am learning so much.  I uploaded the picture from my phone so the colors don’t look as spectacular as they are IRL but it was fun learning how to use Tim Holtz’ alcohol inks.  I had only dabbled with using clay once a few years ago at the Texas Tally Rally from TallyScrappers too so this was an experience as well.  And it was my first time using this type of glitter.  I also had never taken foil cardstock & tried to make it look like I had put a patina on it before.  I want to enter it in Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge # 22 here:  Thanks for looking.
